The New York Academy of Sciences proudly presents “Expanding the Endocrine Landscape: Peptide Hormones, Receptors, and the Microbiome.”

Hormone Signaling is involved in many different processes in the body including tissue and metabolic homeostasis. Jesse Roth, an endocrinologist from the Feinstein Institutes of Medical Research, paved the way to understanding that many human disorders could be linked to receptor malfunction. His work revolutionized the understanding of diabetes through his pioneering discovery of insulin receptors.

This symposium, dedicated to Jesse’s over 50 years of research, will explore research borne out of his early career, focusing on diabetes, cell signaling, and related areas and follow his endless imaginative insight into his more recent interests in hormones produced by the gut microbiome.

Take part in this exciting conference to explore how disrupted receptor signaling can lead to conditions like diabetes, obesity, Alzheimer’s disease, and other metabolic disorders.
