Alexey Nesvizhskii, PhD
University of Michigan
Prof. Alexey Nesvizhskii is the Godfrey Dorr Stobbe Professor of Bioinformatics in the Departments of Pathology and Computational Medicine & Bioinformatics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He also directs the University of Michigan Proteomics Resource Facility, which provides advanced proteomics capabilities to investigators across the University.

Prof. Nesvizhskii earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Washington in Seattle in 2001 and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research in proteomics with Prof. Ruedi Aebersold at the Institute for Systems Biology. He joined the faculty at the University of Michigan in 2005.

His research focuses on mass spectrometry-based proteomics and proteogenomics, bioinformatics, and multi-omics data integration. His laboratory develops computational methods and software platforms for large-scale proteomic data analysis, including FragPipe and related tools that are used by thousands of laboratories worldwide in both academia and industry. His group has also contributed methods for quantitative proteomics, glycoproteomics, immunopeptidomics, chemoproteomics, and other emerging areas of mass spectrometry.

Prof. Nesvizhskii has developed and taught numerous hands-on workshops and tutorials on proteomics data analysis in the United States and internationally. His contributions have been recognized by several major honors, including the Human Proteome Organization Distinguished Achievement in Proteomic Sciences Award, the Gilbert S. Omenn Computational Proteomics Award, and selection as a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher.
