John Prensner MD, PhD

John Prensner is a physician-scientist, pediatric neuro-oncologist, and faculty member at the University of Michigan, where he is the Barry J. Glick Early Career Professor in Pediatric Oncology. His research and clinical practice focus on children with brain tumors. His work in the dark proteome has been recognized by awards and honors such as the Cancer Grand Challenges dark proteome team ILLUMINE, the AACR NextGen Stars Award, the NIH New Innovator Award, and a position as co-Chair of the Scientific Committee of the Children’s Brain Tumor Network. He earned a B.A. in English Literature from Tufts University, his MD and PhD degrees from the University of Michigan, and completed clinical training and post-doctoral research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Broad Institute.
