Neuroimmunology and Autoimmunity: From Mechanisms to Novel Therapeutics will bring together leading researchers, clinicians, and industry innovators to explore the next generation of therapies transforming treatment for neurological and autoimmune disorders.

It is becoming clear that the nervous system and immune system are inextricably linked, and differential regulation of central nervous system inflammation can affect the symptoms and severity of neuroinflammatory and autoimmune conditions including multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, neurodegenerative diseases, and neuropsychiatric disorders. A complete model of how these two systems interact to cause pathogenesis of these diseases is lacking, and for many patients with these conditions, current drugs and targeted therapies provide only partial relief—or fail to work altogether. Existing treatments often come with significant side effects, largely because they broadly suppress or modify the immune system. There is a critical need to develop a better understanding of the mechanisms of neuroinflammation to design more effective intervention strategies to improve disease management in neuroimmune and autoimmune diseases.

This symposium will showcase cutting-edge research and highlight promising approaches in areas such as neuromodulation of immunity and cell trafficking, sensory mechanisms of immunity, directing of synaptic plasticity to treat PTSD and updates from clinical trials of novel devices and targeted therapies.

In addition to keynote lectures and plenary talks, the program features industry updates, short talks selected from abstracts, and a panel discussion.
