Kyle Flannigan, PhD
Senior Scientist, Department of Immunology and Respiratory
Boehringer Ingelheim
Kyle Flannigan is currently a Senior Scientist in the Department of Immunology and Respiratory at Boehringer Ingelheim. Before joining Boehringer, Kyle was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Calgary, Canada where he focused on mucosal immunology and how interactions between the external environment (microbiome, drugs and chemical etc.) can influence our immune system at mucosal surfaces to trigger inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and IBD-associated complications like intestinal fibrosis. Kyle also spent time at Georgia State University studying host-microbe interactions in the context of inflammatory diseases. He has a long standing interest in inflammation, immunology and pharmacology and understanding how the external environment can predispose people to inflammatory diseases and how it shapes our response to drugs and therapeutics.
