Lee A. (Ted) Denson, MD completed training in Pediatric Gastroenterology at the Yale University School of Medicine. He holds the M. Susan Moyer Chair in Pediatrics at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, where he is the Director of the Schubert-Martin IBD Center, and the Cincinnati Children's Digestive Health Center. His research program has focused upon discovering mechanisms of inflammation and fibrosis in IBD and translating these discoveries to the clinic. In this capacity he has been active in the development and implementation of the CCF sponsored RISK pediatric Crohn Disease and NIH sponsored PROTECT pediatric Ulcerative Colitis and CAMEO pediatric Crohn Disease inception cohort studies. Observations from these cohort studies have led to an NIH sponsored RCT of the 2'-fucosyllactose prebiotic as an adjunct to anti-TNF therapy in IBD, and the development of a human intestinal organoid model of stricturing Crohn's Disease. He will share observations from these recent research studies today.
