Ruocheng (Ronnie) Yu is a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Prof. Emily Balskus at Harvard University. His research focuses on the development of novel chemical biology tools for studying protein post-translational modifications and enabling enzyme discovery from human-associated microbiome. Before joining the Balskus lab, he was trained as a synthetic organic chemist in the laboratory of Prof. K. C. Nicolaou, under whose guidance he led a team that completed the first total synthesis of gukulenin B and co-authored the fourth volume of Classics in Total Synthesis.
