Xiaoqing Han, Ph.D., is a drug hunter at Merck Research Laboratories in Rahway, New Jersey. He began his career at Merck as a medicinal chemist and currently, in the Chemical Biology Group, focuses on phenotypic screening, target identification and validation, and induced proximity–based therapeutic approaches. Dr. Han earned his B.S. in Chemistry from Peking University (1997) and his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Duke University (2006), where he conducted doctoral research under the direction of Professor Ross Widenhoefer. He subsequently completed a California TRDRP Postdoctoral Fellowship at the California Institute of Technology and City of Hope (2006–2009) with Professors Brian Stoltz and David Horne, where his research centered on metal catalysis and natural product synthesis.
