Oi Wei completed a BSc (Hons) in Applied Chemistry at the University of Malaya and a master’s degree at Paris-Sud University. She subsequently pursued a PhD at the University of Auckland, focusing on small-molecule drug discovery using biochemical and computational approaches. She then undertook postdoctoral training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she worked for five years before continuing as an instructor in the same laboratory since 2025. Her research focuses on the development of small-molecule therapeutics and has led to two issued patents. Her interests span diverse biological targets, including programmed cell death, cancer dormancy, prostaglandin signaling, and nucleotide metabolism pathways.
