Dan Zabransky is an Assistant Professor of Oncology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He earned his MD and PhD at Johns Hopkins, where he also completed his internal medicine residency and medical oncology fellowship. After fellowship, he stayed at Johns Hopkins and established his laboratory in 2023 as part of the GI oncology program. His laboratory investigates how aging and age-related changes in the tumor microenvironment shape antitumor immunity and resistance to immunotherapy in gastrointestinal cancers, with particular emphasis on pancreatic cancer and cholangiocarcinoma. His research integrates preclinical models and patient studies to identify therapeutic strategies that overcome immune suppression and address the increasing impact of aging on cancer biology and treatment response.
