Tamalika Paul, MS, BS
Virginia Tech
Tamalika Paul is a PhD candidate in Immunology at Virginia Tech. Her doctoral research, under the
guidance of Dr. Irving Coy Allen and Dr. Eli Vlaisavljevich, integrates immunology, cancer biology,
and focused ultrasound ablation technique(histotripsy) to investigate how histotripsy ablation of
pancreatic tumors modulates the tumor microenvironment and promotes systemic anti-tumor
immunity. Her work combines immuno-oncology, histotripsy, and preclinical large and small
animal models, including novel porcine tumor models. Prior to transitioning into immunology, she
conducted biomaterials and peptide research in the Department of Chemistry at Virginia Tech and
completed her master's research at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar, India.
Tamalika has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and conference
abstracts and has presented her work at AACR, AAI, ISTU, and other conferences. She has received
multiple awards recognizing her scientific presentations, mentorships, and contributions to cancer
research. She is deeply enthusiastic about translational cancer research that bridges immunology
and therapeutic innovation to improve patient outcomes. She is equally committed to mentoring
the next generation of scientists by fostering curiosity and strong scientific communication.
