Angela Pierides

Angela Pierides is a PhD student at the University of Technology Sydney, where her research focuses on the application of deep learning and computational image analysis to characterise platelet behaviour at the single‑cell level. She holds a Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering and previously worked in the medical device industry as a Project Manager, before transitioning to academic research. In parallel with her doctoral studies, Angela serves as a Project Coordinator at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, supporting translational cardiovascular research and cardiac safety studies. Her research interests lie at the intersection of computational biology and cardiovascular disease, with an overarching goal of translating methodological advances into clinically meaningful outcomes.
