Dr. Eric J. Nestler is the Interim Dean and Dean for Academic Affairs of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Chief Scientific Officer of the Mount Sinai Health System. Dr. Nestler also serves as Director of the Friedman Brain Institute and Nash Family Professor of Neuroscience. A member of the National Academy of Medicine and former President of the Society for Neuroscience, his research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of drug addiction and depression.
