Ipek Ensari, PhD

Dr. Ipek Ensari is an Assistant Professor in the Windreich Department of Artificial Intelligence and Human Health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Health. Her research investigates artificial intelligence and mobile health (mHealth) technologies for advancing the understanding and treatment of female reproductive disorders, with an emphasis on lifestyle interventions. Dr. Ensari currently leads an NIH-funded study developing mHealth-based, multi-modal digital measures to improve clinical decision-making and patient outcomes in chronic pelvic pain disorders such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, and fibroids. Prior to joining Mount Sinai, she was a postdoctoral research scientist at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and the Data Science Institute at Columbia University. Committed to science communication and spreading awareness on women's health, Dr. Ensari co-wrote and co-directed "Endomic," a satirical documentary short about endometriosis, which premiered at the Slamdance Festival in 2021 and screened at several film festivals worldwide.
