Tanzeem Choudhury, PhD

Tanzeem Choudhury is the Chief of Health Innovation and the Roger and Joelle Burnell Professor in Integrated Health and Technology at Cornell Tech and the Jacobs Technion-Cornell Institute. She is also the director of The Health Tech Hub at Cornell Tech's Jacobs Institute. Her research bridges between computer science, medicine, and social sciences to enable richer and more continuous analysis of people. At Cornell, Prof. Choudhury directs the People-Aware Computing group which creates wearables and multi-modal AI systems to better measure and intervene on health behaviors and symptoms. The group's research includes creating novel on-body actuators, and clinical decision support that help individuals and also their clinicians take better health actions - both mental and physical. From 2021-2023, she served as the Senior Vice President of Digital Health at Optum Labs (part of UnitedHealth Group). Prof. Choudhury is a co-founder of two mental health AI startups with the mission of integrating behavioral health into all aspects of healthcare. She has been awarded the MIT Technology Review TR35 award, NSF CAREER award and the Ubiquitous Computing 10-year Impact Award. Tanzeem is an ACM Fellow, TED Fellow, Kavli Fellow, and has been inducted into the SIGCHI Academy.
